SXSW // Discover the Here and Now

In March, we traveled to Austin, TX to be part of the SXSW festival. The week-long event was full of energy and creativity, and the city is a hipster’s dream. Attendees were invited to panels, trade shows, networking sessions, presentations and performances at the Austin Convention Center and other local businesses. The conference is all about innovation and technology, specifically in the areas of music, film and interactive media.

2016 marks 30 Years of SXSW and it continues to grow each year. We were stoked to be a part of the Launchfest at Maggie Mae’s with three photos booths running simultaneously, each with its own custom backdrop. SXSW is an important piece of our culture and we were there to photograph the occasion, documenting the up and coming, the startups, the inventors.

SXSW brings together people from across the spectrum, even keynote speakers POTUS Barak Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama! The President’s main message was about technology and its role in civic engagement. Do your part to better your community and country? We can get behind that. Michelle shared her message and efforts on the importance of educating females around the world. SXSW landed in the middle of Women’s History Month, so it was the perfect time to spread the word about Let Girls Learn.

Last, but not least, scroll to see some of the shenanigans from our booth setups. All three locations were open concept with custom printed backdrops, photo prints and Animated GIFs. Join the conversation #IgnitionSXSW #SXSW16.

CSRM Exhibit Opening Day

Sacramento Pink Shutter Logo
Sept 14.2013

The California State Railroad Museum celebrated the opening of their new exhibit “Double Exposure: Photography and the Transcontinental Railroad.” As part of the day-long festivities, the museum offered attendees time in a Pink Shutter photo booth. Booking the Standard Package, the museum’s event coordinator was able to choose from any of our design layouts for their photo prints.

They chose a design that tied into the photography theme of the event. Guests’ photos were printed inside a graphic that resembles a roll of film. The museum added their own logo and the Double Exposure logo to the side of the print.

Though our existing film strip design was a perfect fit for the photography show, ordering Custom Graphics allows you to change any and all aspects of a layout’s background. Include your own photos, graphics, fonts, logos, patterns and colors. Get ideas for your event’s design by looking through our SmugMug Gallery.
