Paper Culture’s Eco-Friendly Invitations
While browsing on Pinterest (of course), we discovered the unique invitation suite designs of California-based Paper Culture. Their collections are modern, colorful, and better yet, good for the environment. Want your event to be eco-friendly, but still awesome? Start by ordering your invites from Paper Culture; finish with fun in our photo booth, delivered by Electric Vehicle. Read on to see our favorite picks for weddings and more.
These grad invites caught our eye with their modern calligraphy and watercolor pattern. The muted color palette works for any alma mater and any age graduate.
Paper Culture :: weddings
Art museums make great wedding venues and these Save the Date cards are a great start for your creative style. Be bold with different color options.
Paper Culture :: themed parties
This fun design was originally made for a movie night party, but we love the play on words that makes it perfect for a baby shower too. Customize your Paper Culture invites to make your event as unique as you.
Paper Culture’s mission is to provide beautiful products inside and out. All of their products are made with sustainable materials and with every order they plant a tree where reforestation is needed the most. All cards are made with 100% post-consumer recycled paper so no trees are harmed. AND they have some serious cred. Paper Culture is…
- A certified Bay Area Green Business
- The 2013 winner of the California Climate Leader award
- A carbon-neutral company in partnership with CarbonFund.org
Paper Culture :: packaging
Even their packaging is earth-friendly. After choosing and customizing your invites, your order is delivered in a Reversible Box, made from recycled cardboard and printed with eco-friendly water-based inks. Turn it inside out for a design-conscious way to send your mail. #ReversibleBox

10.23.2016 // Dylan’s Luau
This 1st birthday party had all the right details for a Hawaiian, surf-themed festivity. Large windows made the event light and bright, setting the stage for dancers and musicians to perform. Sweet Dozen created a yummy doughnut bar and tropical details decorated the tables and walls.
(don’t miss our booth in the corner!)
The host brought the cutest props so guests could pose with pineapples, coconuts, palm trees and flowers. A custom border continued the theme for fun party favors.

Skybox Takes Flight
featured on the Skynotes Blog by Ngoc Nguyen Lay
Skybox has gone through a lot of changes from the inception of the idea. It had started back when I was in grad school. I had no idea where I wanted to take my business, but I knew I wanted to start something that I could call my own. My original logo and concept was based upon the intention to run a catering business. Skybox has evolved so much further than that.
I worked with Nikki from Akula Kreative to rebrand the company

With Skybox Events, we do our best to make every moment magical, both for ourselves and for the client. I’ve seen plenty of “impossible” happen through Skybox; starting a company, growing into needing an office, writing a book, and so much more. This is why I chose the hot air balloon. Because I want to help others see all their impossible ideas become magical realities.
Skybox is taking the next step in their adventure and a rebrand is in the works again in 2016. A new website will be launched soon! Stay tuned to our social media pages to see the reveal.

Real Weddings – Skybox + Pink Shutter
We’ve had the pleasure of working with Skybox on two weddings in the Los Angeles / Orange County area. Ngoc was part of the bridal party for the first feature, Jannie and Tom. The couple created a sophisticated, cohesive look to their big day using their monogram, a navy, gray and hot pink color palette and a chandelier motif (with a real chandelier hung for the outdoor ceremony!). See more photos on the Skynotes blog.

James & Thao hosted a bold, timeless wedding in red, black and white. Attention was paid to every detail with their monogram appearing on the menus, the floor lights, the photo prints and their photo booth backdrop. A Pink Shutter video booth captured heart felt messages from the couple’s guests. So sweet!
